Lesson 176: Two Consonants Separation (Word Building)

A vowel is short when there are two or more different consonants between it and the next vowel.

The instructor:

Shows each word in the list and asks children to sound out the word. (Do not tell children the words. Let them figure it out on their own with prompting as necessary.)

Asks children to build the lesson words out of tiles and to point at each tile while making the associated sound.

Mastery occurs when the instructor points to any word on the list and children can sound it out on their own.
